The First Tee of Savannah - introducing golf to young people

The First Tee

of Savannah

Happy New Year Parents & Participants,

I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday season and are excited to get back to learning the game of golf. I would like to thank all of our Champion Golfers who played in The First Tee of Savannah 1st Annual Adult/Junior Christmas Tournament. I believe the adults had more fun learning for our membership, so you should be very proud  parents and most of the Adults have signed back up to participate later this year. You can also be very proud of our Assessment Rate of 94% for Life and Golf Skills for 2016. But most importantly we add 22 new names to our A/B Honor Roll list for the 2016 school year. I can’t wait to see what we will do for 2017.

Speaking of 2017, we are excited to roll out our competitive programming called The Future League. These are fun tournaments played in different formats to help our membership get more experience on the golf course. More information will come later. We have started planning for our STEMLink Summer Camp, which will start in June.

We hope you will join us this summer for more hands on coaching, rules clinic, science behind the golf swing and more fun.

But until then, let’s get started with Winter Registration which begins January 23, 2017. This year’s membership fee will increase to $100.00 and the class session fee will remain the same, $80.00. We will continue to have rental clubs available this year but due to the amount of damage equipment that needed to be exchanged the rental fee will be, $25.00 per session.

I hope everyone received their new navy uniform of 2017. If not, please contact the office to place your order.

Nine Core Values

Why is golf different from other sports?

Players learn values like honesty and responsibility by calling penalties on themselves and reporting their own score. By participating in The First Tee, youth are introduced to Nine Core Values which are incorporated throughout the program.

Getting started

Who can play?

The First Tee offers group lessons to youth up to age 18 regardless of background or previous experience. Our coaches are trained to make kids feel comfortable and assure they have a positive, non-intimidating experience. All we ask is young people come with an open mind and positive attitude.
