The First Tee of Savannah is a nonprofit youth development organization that teaches young people life skills, character building, education, and healthy habits through the game of golf. The First Tee of Savannah serves both boys and girls, ages from 6 to 17, with over 12 years of service to the Coastal Empire community, we have had a positive influence upon the lives of over 32,000 boys and girls by providing access to our special golf programs at Bacon Park, Crosswinds, Henderson and Crosswinds Golf Courses as well as through the National Schools Program and the LPGA-USGA Girls Golf Program. In addition to promoting emotional and physical health, The First Tee places strong emphasis upon academic growth and performance. For example, we recognize our participants’ academic achievements through the A/B Honors recognition program, which encourages them to get top grades.
Beyond the numbers, however, lies the real story of The First Tee of Savannah. Mrs. Zerna Crosby, parent comments, “We want to express how excited and thankful that Lamar was chosen as a participant to receive a scholarship from The First Tee. He has sincerely enjoyed his affiliation with The First Tee of Savannah as he continues to participate as a senior preparing for college. During the summer he has spent time as a peer coach, assisting with the after school Program and other leadership roles. We are grateful to have The First Tee of Savannah as part of our village to raise our child”.
